What do you do when a storage unit with a potential body inside is leased in your name? Try to destroy the evidence, of course! Season 5, episode 17 of “Pretty Little Liars” put Hanna (Ashley Benson) in a dangerous and incriminating situation when “A” set her up for Mona’s (Janel Parrish) murder.

Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) did some digging and found out that the storage unit was rented out in Hanna’s name the day before Mona was killed. The gang hatched a plan to change Hanna’s name on the files and inform the police. However, that wasn’t good enough for Hanna. Believing Alison (Sasha Pieterse) to be behind the setup, Hanna knew that the only way to avoid an orange jumpsuit would be to dispose of the evidence in the storage unit.

Ignoring her friends, Hanna bought a bunch of supplies and rented out a truck. Caleb tried to talk her out of doing something stupid, but his girlfriend was dead set in her plan.

“I have no choice but to do this,” she told him.

The pair went to the storage locker and broke in … except the only thing left was the barrel. Caleb wanted to open it, but Hanna was afraid that Mona’s body would be in it. If she was in it, Caleb argued that they had to get it out of the building. The two left to get a dolly and ran into Det. Tanner (Roma Mafia) and Toby (Keegan Allen). Caleb sold them a story about looking into renting a storage unit, but Tanner didn’t believe him.

While Caleb and Hanna barely escaped the police, the rest of the girls tracked Mona’s laptop. They knew that Hanna was freaking out about being framed and thought that she went to the storage locker with Caleb to remove everything. Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) weren’t wrong … but it wasn’t Hanna who had the laptop.

The tracking device took the girls to an abandoned ice cream factory. To cover more ground, they decided to do the stupidest thing possible – split up.

Spencer found the laptop in a side room while searching one of the floors. The laptop was playing a recording from earlier in the day – Hanna and Caleb’s discussion about disposing the contents in the storage locker. With their history of getting locked inside dangerous places, Spencer propped the door open with a tool. Unfortunately “A” was one step ahead of her though. When Aria joined Spencer, “A” pulled out the tool and locked them inside. The room just so happened to be a freezer … pumping out liquid nitrogen.

Spencer and Aria had little time before the temperature turned deadly. The good news was that Emily was on the outside and able to break open the freezer with a couple of hard swings at the control box.

Spencer, Aria and Emily may have dodged a bullet, but Hanna and Caleb were put in a tough spot. Tanner and Toby went to “A’s” storage locker and found the barrel. Toby opened up the barrel, but Tanner had him quickly close it. Because of the smell, Tanner requested that he call in the hazmat team. However when Toby left, Tanner opened up the barrel. “Pretty Little Liars” fans were left on the edge of their seats trying to see what was inside, but Tanner didn’t reveal the contents. The detective did find something else in the storage unit though … blood. A couple droplets were on the ground by the barrel. Was the blood left there on purpose by “A”? Or did Tanner finally get one step ahead of “A”?

Tanner came clean to Toby about the blood – but also threatened him. She knew that his friends were involved in some way and told him that he had to stop lying and keeping secrets from the police.

The storage unit and Mona barrel situation wasn’t the only drama in episode 17. Aria came clean to Ezra (Ian Harding) about getting into Talmadge College, and he didn’t mind the letter … at first. After thinking about it further, Ezra told her that he thought she should take her time at college for herself. They didn’t officially break up, but it’s not looking good for Ezria shippers. Spencer was put in the same boat, with Toby seemingly choosing his job over her. Meanwhile new love knocked on Emily’s door. Talia (Miranda Rae Mayo) confessed to Emily that she was interested in her, not Ezra.
