Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly added something special to the recent Royal Variety Performance in London.

Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, told Express that Markle was able to dress appropriately at the event so she attracted the attention of the entire world.

“There is no question that they were the perfect members of the royal family to add to a very special cachet to Monday night’s Royal Variety Performance – and give it global coverage because anything they do gets enormous publicity,” he said.

Fitzwilliams added that the Royal Variety Performance is a key date in the year for the royal family because it is a tremendously important gathering because of its connection with the stars.

“Many people talk about the link between the Royals and the military and that’s so well-known, but in fact, the links between the royals and their support for arts is tremendously important. I mean, the patronages: whether it’s Prince William and BAFTA or whether it’s the Prince of Wales and his support of Shakespeare. You saw that concert to commemorate Charles at 70,” he said.

In related news, Take That member Howard Donald shared some details regarding his conversation with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“We were really relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed. It’s not your normal crowd and they were very appreciative. They were a lovely couple and it’s wonderful they are having a baby. They said they were watching the hard-ore fans put their hands in the air to ‘Never Forget.’ Harry said he even remembered it,” he said (via Express).

Gary Barlow, another member of Take That, joked with Markle regarding the record he made with Prince Harry for Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.

“Ask your husband about playing the tambourine on one of our records,” he joked.

The other attendees at the Royal Variety Performance were Mark Owen, Greg Davies, Rick Astley, George Ezra, Lost Voice Guy, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Andrea Bocelli, Matteo Bocelli, and more.

Prince Harry and Markle also met another performer at the Royal Variety Performance, and it is Peanut, a realistic elephant puppet from the act Circus 1903.
