People.com is reporting that Prince William will not wear a wedding band.

It is reported that the Prince will avoid the tradition of wearing a wedding finger. Kate Middleton, on the other hand, will wear a wedding band and it will be made from Welsh gold.

There is only going to be one ring, in accordance with the couple's wishes, a palace spokeswoman told People.com.

According to People.com, a small amount of gold mined from the Welsh mountains has been kept in the royal vaults since it was originally presented to Prince William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

These mountains are fairly close to where the couple will start their married life on Anglesey.

The Queen has given a piece of the gold that has been in the family for many years to Prince William as a gift, a palace source told People.

Prince William's father, Prince Charles, sometimes wears his wedding band.

Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton is schedule for April 29 at Westminster Abbey.
