Prince William and Duchess Kate's yearly visits to the Caribbean resort island of Mustique provides the couple the opportunity to relax, unwind and be sweet to one another.

Mustique has been an idyllic Caribbean summer holiday spot for the royal couple. According to People, the two first visited the private island when they were dating in 2008. Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have spent many family vacations there. During their annual summer holiday, the two would either lounge by the pool, or participate in island activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, tennis and more.

Famed Beverly Hills jeweler Martin Katz and wife, Kelly, were fortunate enough to meet the royal couple during a vacation in Mustique in 2008. Katz told the magazine how friendly and open Kate Middleton was. He shared an unforgettable experience with Prince William, wherein he accidentally sprayed fruit punch over the prince’s feet, who was then wearing flip flops. He recounted, "I was holding a glass of fruit punch and it slipped from my hand and crashed to the floor… I was mortified of course, but all I heard was, 'That was quite refreshing, thank you.'” Katz added how Princess Diana would have been proud of the way her son handled the situation. He admitted, “It was a very embarrassing moment for me, and he was very kind about it.”

The jeweler also mentioned that the royal couple was very private and enjoyed a simple life while on their Mustique vacation. Kate reportedly looked beautiful sans make-up and talked to everybody who would speak with her. Katz said, "They were lovely and they couldn't be more present. I think what struck me was that they were human like everybody else, dressing to fit in like everybody else."

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge’s recently acquired an advanced open water diver qualification, which will help her enjoy scuba dates with husband Prince William, reported the Telegraph. With her new qualifications, she can now dive to a depth of 98 feet.

The royal couple are also avid sailors and attended the America's Cup World Series in Portsmouth, England, on July 26, Us Weekly reported. Unfortunately the race was canceled due to bad weather, but the royal couple still met with the sailing teams and their families present at the event.
