"It's interesting how strong people's memories are. They have their ownstories or family stories passed down," says Olympian and national sailingchampion Cronin. "It's a very powerful story today, and certainly inJamestown that's true. Living here led me in this direction. I had to workas a race official to get experience for the book, and then I had to go tothe Olympics to finish it," she says, laughing.

Longing to feel closer to his grandfather, Oliver skips school on aSeptember afternoon and hides out on a tired schooner. When he wakes up onthe ways of his grandfather's boatyard and realizes he's been transportedback to 1938, he must decide what to do before the dangerous hurricane he'dbeen studying in school hits.
