1 Million HD Radio(TM) Modules Manufactured to Date
SHENZHEN, China, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- iBiquity Digital Corporation, thedeveloper of digital HD Radio(TM) technology for AM and FM audio and databroadcasting, announced today that over 1 million HD Radio modules have beenmanufactured for retail radio receivers using the Texas Instruments DRI Serieschipsets. Module manufacturers leading the way to this milestone include ACEDixxio, Kensen, Kiryung, Kwang Sung Electronics, LG Innotek, Powertech,Samsung EM, TOKO and Wistron NeWeb Corporation.
"This is an important milestone in the growth of the HD Radio market. Itreflects the steady increase in product development and, ultimately, retailsales of HD Radio receivers," said Jeff Jury, COO of iBiquity Digital. Platforms supported by these modules include home AVR, table top radios,aftermarket in-dash and mobile products, plug-and-play devices and OEM carproducts. Modules from these manufacturers can be found in products from AAMPof America, Audiovox, Alpine, Coby, CSW, Denon, Dual, Harman/JBL, Insignia,Jensen, JVC, jWIN, Marantz, Onkyo, Pioneer, Polk, Radio Shack, Sangean andYamaha.
The modules are based on iBiquity Digital's 1181, 2129 and 2023 I/OSpecifications and Reference Designs. All modules are certified throughiBiquity's certification process.
