Becca Solodon to Record Previously Unreleased P.F. Sloan Ballad for Australian Feature Film 'Remembering Nigel'
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing an exciting yearwhich has seen the release of her first EP, "In My Room," and her headliningdebut at Santa Barbara's Center Stage Theater, Becca Solodon has been chosenby award-winning Australian film director Frank Howson for a featured positionon the soundtrack for his upcoming film "Remembering Nigel."
Not only that, but legendary songwriter P.F. Sloan ("Secret Agent Man,""Eve of Destruction") has made the generous offer to allow Becca to record hispreviously unreleased ballad "Ginger Street" for the film and her first fullalbum.
At the young age of 16, Becca battled a rare and aggressive form of cancerthat resulted in the amputation of a portion of her left leg. During Becca'streatment, the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation orchestrated her dream ofrecording a song in a major Los Angeles studio with some of the musicindustry's most influential players, producers and engineers, under thedirection of famed West Coast producer Damion "Damizza" Young (Mariah Carey,Snoop Dogg) & Ronnie king (2pac & the offspring).
It was the start to what is becoming one of the music industry's mostremarkable burgeoning careers.
Howson, who assisted with the filming of "An Evening With Becca Solodon"for an early 2009 DVD release, says, "Becca is an amazing singer and has suchan inspirational story. She's so young and yet has stared death down andthrough her intense faith has come through it."

Becca Solodon's version of "Ginger Street" by P.F. Sloan will be producedby Damizza. "Remembering Nigel" is scheduled for worldwide release in thefirst half of 2009. Becca's debut album will be released, along with the DVDof "An Evening With Becca Solodon," in the first quarter of 2009.
