Dr. Brown and his research team at UTSW willperform additional research necessary to support ImmuneRegen's IND(Investigational New Drug) filing in an effort to obtain U.S. Food and DrugAdministration clearance to initiate human wound healing studies. UTSW alsowill conduct studies to confirm Homspera's efficacy for additional skinapplications.

Before joining Dallas-based UTSW as the director of research for thedepartment of plastic surgery in 2000, Dr. Brown was professor facultymember at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C. Previously, Dr.Brown was research instructor and research assistant professor at BaylorCollege of Medicine in Houston.

He is a member of the National Institutes of Health's Special EmphasisBoard Study Section I K08 and Special Emphasis Board Study Section II, andUTSW's Institutional Board for Responsible Care for Human Subjects andInstitutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). He has served onnumerous society committee and reviewer for several journals.

Dr. Brown received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College andPh.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, with a thesis oncholesterol metabolism. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at theSection of Atherosclerosis and Lipid Metabolism at the Baylor College ofMedicine. He has authored and co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewedarticles and presented more than 60 abstracts at national meetings,including the Plastic Surgery Research Council, Wound Healing Society andAmerican Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
