Anthem Worldwide's Coca-Cola Olympic Games Packaging Awarded SILVER in Global Beverage Package Design Competition

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/02/08 -- Anthem Worldwide, a Schawk (NYSE: SGK)Strategic Design Company, announced that Anthem and its client, theCoca-Cola Company, were awarded SILVER for theCoca-Cola Beijing Olympic Games packaging by Beverage World's Best InBeverage Packaging, honoring the best in global beverage package design.

Coca-Cola's road to Beijing began with its first Olympic sponsorship in1928 and continued 80 years later with a 150-country Olympic marketingblitz. In their largest effort ever, Coke turned to Anthem's parentcompany, Schawk, Inc., and to Anthem to translate its Olympicscommunications strategy to packaging. Faced with balancing the company'svisual identity standards with the International Olympic Committee'sstandards, the "Coke Side of Life" campaign principles, as well as theBeijing Olympics identity, Anthem found its own challenges of Olympicproportions.

With a team drawn from Anthem Worldwide offices globally, Anthemcollaborated with a consortium of Coke's global design partners to inspirepeople to live on the "Coke Side of Life" coupled with the notion ofOlympic possibilities. The package guidelines and standards incorporatedbrand elements drawn from East and West to position Coca-Cola as an activeparticipant in the Beijing games, not a passive sponsor. The guidelinesoffered freedom for localization within a framework of global consistencythat was adopted by key regions around the globe.
