NCSBN Nursys.com to Launch Completely Paperless Verification Jan. 1, 2009

CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 12/17/08 -- The National Council of State Boards ofNursing's (NCSBN®) Nursys.com Web site will implement paperlessverifications beginning Jan. 1, 2009. As of this date, paper Nursys®verification request forms will no longer be accepted by NCSBN.
The Nursys.com Web site is a component of Nursys (Nurse System), which is acomputer system that contains nurse license and license disciplineinformation provided by boards of nursing in the U.S. and its territories.
Nursys.com allows nurses to verify their license(s) from a Nursys licensureparticipating state* when applying for endorsement into another state.Paperless verification is more efficient, easier and quicker because theverification report is activated immediately and available to all nursingboards in the U.S. and its territories for 90 days. The Nursys.com Web sitealso provides instant online license verification reports to employers andthe general public.
The fee will remain at $30 for registered nurse (RN) license orpractical/vocational nurse license (LPN/VN) verification. The fee to verifyboth RN and LPN licenses is $60.
Nursys.com applicants can pay by credit card using the secure and privatepayment system. Once the application is complete and the credit cardpayment approved, the verification is posted immediately.
The fee for online license verification reports is $5 per report toemployers and the general public.
