ReferQuest.com, launched this month, lets people offer financial rewards to motivate the results they seek. People are using the site to find sublets, new clients for their business, and even boyfriends.

"After unsuccessfully scouring every online service available I felt an urge to offer money for referrals to motivate a wider network of people to solve my search needs," says Camille Landau, CEO of ReferQuest. Landau started the site after a frustrating search for temporary office space, a nanny, and a buyer for her car one week before she was due to give birth. Conventional online services and networks just weren't cutting it during crunch time.

"I had the idea when I was about to have my first son, now that I've just had my second, I need the site even more," says Landau. Her first son is two, and her second son is three months old.

ReferQuest lets users name the dollar amount they would pay for the solution they seek. It's free to post, and customers only pay when they've found what they were looking for.

ReferQuest offers users "financial shortcuts" for the stressed economy. Customers can post a modest, fixed reward to find help ("Here's $100 if you find me a temp assistant") instead of paying "retail" and using agencies. People who refer friends on the site can also earn incremental income.

"As the economy slows down, people are looking for new ways to speed their transactions up," says Landau. "This site allows people to monetize their social networks and help find solutions more quickly."
