Five Attorney Litigation Group Joins Sheppard Mullin Los Angeles
Prestige Practice Significantly Expands Firm's White Collar Defense Capabilities
LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/02/09 -- Bryan D. Daly, Charles L. Kreindler andPeter Morris have joined the Los Angeles office of Sheppard, Mullin,Richter & Hampton LLP as partners in the firm's Business Trial andGovernment Contracts practice groups, specializing in white collar criminaldefense and complex civil litigation. The four partners will be joined byspecial counsel Barbara E. Taylor and Melissa K. Eaves. The group mostrecently practiced together with Mayer Brown in Los Angeles.

Daly has represented businesses and executives under investigation orcharged with white collar criminal offenses. He has also conductedinternal investigations and compliance inquiries for a number of majorcorporations, has investigated fraud and other allegations of misconduct onbehalf of these companies, and has coordinated voluntary disclosures andcase referrals to the Department of Justice and other impacted agencies.Daly is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Central Districtof California, Criminal Division, Public Corruption and Government FraudSection. As a federal prosecutor, he was responsible for the investigationand prosecution of a wide variety of government fraud cases, includinghealth care fraud, bank and mail fraud, defense contractor fraud,environmental violations, and criminal tax cases.
Kreindler was a federal prosecutor in Los Angeles from 1989-1997. In thatrole, he investigated and prosecuted a variety of criminal offensesincluding health care fraud, defense procurement fraud, tax evasion, bankfraud, money laundering, international theft, murder, and counterfeiting.In private practice, Kreindler has successfully represented numerousindividuals and companies in relation to federal criminal investigations.He is also an accomplished civil trial attorney with several multi-milliondollar verdicts to his credit on behalf of plaintiffs as well as severaldefense verdicts on behalf of defendants.
In addition to white collar defense and complex business litigation, Morrisspecializes in healthcare matters and securities litigation. He served asan Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S.Attorney's Office from 1989 to 1991. From 1994 to 1996, Morris held afull-time faculty appointment with the School of Law of the University ofCalifornia at Los Angeles.

Daly received a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law in 1985 and aB.A. from Ramapo College in 1982.
