FIDF Asks Jewish Community to Show Support and Love for Israel's Brave Soldiers

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 01/05/09 -- Following the recent developments in Israeland the on-going IDF "Cast Lead" Operation, Friends of the Israel DefenseForces (FIDF) has launched an Emergency Campaign, titled "FIDF FrontlineOperation," aimed at raising awareness and funds to fulfill the immediatewellbeing needs of the IDF Soldiers on the frontlines of the Gaza Strip.
In response to an emergency request from the IDF to supply more goods andwellbeing services to the thousands of active-duty and reserve soldiersdeployed in the Gaza Strip area, FIDF is accelerating its activities tohelp soldiers in the field.
"As Israeli ground forces enter the Gaza Strip and launch the second stageof Operation 'Cast Lead' aimed at fighting the Hamas terrorist organizationand its infrastructure in the Gaza strip, it is imperative that theAmerican Jewish Community stands side-by-side with these brave young menand women who are risking their lives to protect our Jewish homeland,"stated Major General (Res.) Yitzhak Gershon, National Director of Friendsof the IDF.
FIDF has been there from the very beginning, distributing Care Packages tothe IDF soldiers in the field. In an effort to reach each and every IDFsoldier and guarantee their needs are provided, FIDF has already beensupplying a variety of necessities including: Care Packages with personalhygiene products; Personal Sweet Packages filled with all their favoritesweet and savory snacks; Rest and Recreation Field Tents where soldiers cankeep warm, relax, watch cable TV, enjoy food and drinks stations, and playboard games; Portable Cell Phone Chargers so soldiers can contact theirloved-ones; Warm Clothing; and Heating Devices. FIDF will continue tosupport the soldiers and accommodate their needs wherever they are.
