WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Tangysweet is opening the doors to its second shop in the heart of the Penn Quarter, introducing the neighborhood to this delicious, healthful, calorie counter's delight.

DC's original tart frozen yogurt store has set up shop at the corner of 7th St. and E St., NW (675 E St., NW; entrance on 7th St.) one block from the Verizon Center. Tangysweet will tantalize customers with combinations of its classic, green tea and pomegranate yogurt with the freshest fruit toppings, like raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, as well as, crunchy cereal toppings.

In addition to its upscale frozen yogurt, Tangysweet, Penn Quarter, is introducing a fresh juice and smoothie bar with a full array of tasty and healthful drinks.

"I am incredibly happy about introducing the Penn Quarter to our tart frozen yogurt that actually tastes like yogurt. We have had such an amazing response to our first Tangysweet store in Dupont Circle that I decided to open the second in an equally exciting, unique part of the city," says Tangysweet's owner, Washington DC native Aaron Gordon. Gordon, who graduated from Wilson High School and the University of Virginia, went mad for the tart frozen yogurt taste in California and was determined to bring it home.

The shop's stylish, environmentally-friendly interior design adds to the experience. Kube Architecture's cutting-edge design utilizes sustainable products and energy-efficient LED lighting as a backdrop for Tangysweet. Glowing, color-changing light tables introduce the fresh colors and flavors of the yogurt and fruit toppings.

"The exciting, modern store design is almost as important to us as the product itself. I want our customers to have a fun and unique experience while enjoying our frozen yogurt,' says Mr. Gordon.

Tangysweet, Penn Quarter will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, January 8, 2009 by offering complimentary frozen yogurt throughout the day. Tangysweet is open daily from 11am to 11pm.
