Core Strategies for 2010 College admissions

The College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) of 2010 has ended. From now the "entrance extreme war" has started. It is time where we need to focus on introducing the best application strategies in order to gain optimal results in the applications process in the regular decisions of 2010 held from December 18th to December 24th for a week.
The start of a successful college application strategy is to choose which type of application is beneficial by Random-scoring before the score reports are sent on the 9th of December. Also, as regular applicants may apply for one school for each Gah, Nah, Dah recruitment district, it is recommanded to apply after distributing schools of interest in to top-priority, second priority, and third.

Don't obsess with results of Random-scoring
It is normal for examinees to make application strategies with the CSAT pre-scoring results, however, the result shouldn't be too trusted. Random-Scoring is literally, 'random,' it isn't the actual score. In reality, the random-scoring results that the test adminstration gives out have always varied from the actual results.
It is important to realize that if we set up an application plan with only the random-scoring results under pressure, the plan itself may become flawed. Making a general plan, as if sketching, about which schools are priorities with consideration of the application requirements is enough.
If the 'Scores' came out well, target schools that emphasize the CSAT
Unlike early actions and early decisions where diverse factors are considered such as essays and interviews, in regular decision, CSAT scores is the most important factor. Especially for this year's regular decision, the ratio of the admission t/o of the CSAT-score-only has increased. Mid-high range universities have also increased the number of admittance for this type of application, and there are about 80 schools which reflect 100% of the CSAT results in choosing students.
As CSAT results are depicted in point system such as standard scoring and percentile ranking just like last year, we need to check for areas that each schools emphasize. For your information, the top schools emphasize standard scoring, while mid range schools utilizes percentile ranking.
Keep track of School Prospectus of the university and course
Each university has its own rubric when interpreting CSAT scores. So the schools that are available depend on the scores of each subject. It is fundamental to check and know how the school and course that you want perceive what section to what degree. It is needed to check what is the ratio between the CSAT scores and academic reports, how many additional subjects are needed, and about specific requirements for special admittance processes if applicable.
Let's not forget about the weighted points. Schools that give weighted scoring have increased; in the case of liberal arts, sections such as social studies, 2nd foreign languages, and chinese are emphasized while in the case of sciences, "?" section of "mathematics or science studies are weighted. As the CSAT result comes out differently if you apply the weighted scoring, applying after determining which sections to submit for the admissions process is one route for admittance into dream schools and top rated universities.
Don't underestimate final exams
The progress reports that are reflected in regular decisions is up to December 4th. This means that the senior year 2nd semester final exam scores is in fact considered in the admissions process. Of course the progress reports aren't so significant, however, the final exam scores do have the power to influence the regular decision recruitment. Therefore, the final exams shouldn't be neglected.
In particular, if comparing the CSAT scores and the academic report is the criteria of selecting students of the dream school/course, it is even more important. Let's also check attendance and service hours. We should not forget that the small amount of points that the final exam contribute may change the rank, and even make a difference in whether we are admitted or not.
