There's a fight brewing between 2 leading consumer products makers. It seems that Procter & Gamble has filed a motion requesting that the new plastic container Kraft Foods is using for its Maxwell House coffee brand be barred. P&G claims that its Folgers brand faces irreparable harm from KFT's plastic container, which the Cincinnati-based company says it patented and pioneered.
On Wall Street, neither stock is reacting to the news, and both look like they could use a cup of coffee. Still, PG has edged above potential resistance at the 67.50 level, and the stock has been on a tear this year along support at its 10-day and 20-day moving averages. Meanwhile, KFT is clinging tenaciously to potential support at the 34 level. Prior to yesterday, this region was home to short-term technical resistance.
