PS 123 Lockdown: Shots Fired Outside Harlem School In New York City, Police Say

P.S. 123 in Harlem is under lockdown Thursday after shots were reportedly fired outside the New York City public school on West 140th Street.

The New York City Alerts Twitter account, citing police, said a suspect only identified as a black male fled the scene. The shots were reportedly fired outside 318 West 140th St., which is the address of P.S. 123. A charter school, Success Academy Harlem 5, is located across the street. It's unclear exactly when the shots were fired, but the tweet was sent out around 1:30 p.m.
