That drop in productivity and collective gasp you may have just heard is due to the "Fallout 4" announcement by Bethesda Software. The highly anticipated sequel to 2008's "Fallout 3" -- and its spinoff "Fallout: New Vegas" in 2010 by Obsidian -- has a new trailer and plenty of details to satisfy eager fans.

"Fallout 4" will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. There are no details on the release date for the game, but Bethesda will make a full "Fallout 4" E3 announcement on June 14 that will likely answer more questions about the game -- and after seven years, what's 11 more days? Bethesda promises to unveil more at E3, but until then let's look at the trailer for more clues.

As Kotaku reported earlier, "Fallout 4" will take place in a postapocalyptic Boston. The report mentions possible characters like Preston Garvey, a mercenary leader, Travis Miles, a radio DJ, and Sturges, an engineer with quite the personality.

A rendition of "It's All Over but the Crying" can be heard over the trailer, which switches between a perfectly realized sci-fi dream of a futuristic household with robotic helpers to a dilapidated home and stray dogs. "We have confirmed reports of nuclear detonations," declares the Vault-Tec announcement. From there, the trailer gives us glimpses of the world, the vault and a few scenes around a transformed Boston. There's a dog that leads the viewer through the trailer and a peek at something that resembles Brotherhood power armor and even a Vault Boy bobblehead.

Fans are quite excited about "Fallout 4" and the game has been trending worldwide on Twitter. Many fans are ready to spend their cash on the game and spend hours exploring postapocalyptic Boston.
