Time flies when you're watching "Game of Thrones" Season 5. After a relatively slow start -- at least compared to previous seasons -- the series has really hit its stride over the last few weeks. With back-to-back incredible episodes featuring the Night's King, an undead army, the sacrifice of Shireen and Daenerys riding Drogon, expectations are high for the "Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale, "Mother's Mercy." If you need a quick recap, head here.

Warning: "Game of Thrones" Season 5 spoilers ahead.

Talk about all the dejected faces! Daenerys riding her very large dragon to safety was a moment we've all been waiting for on "Game of Thrones." In the moment, you're left with a sense of awe at witnessing the impossible until you realize you're surrounded by enemies. Daenerys is safe, but Tyrion, Jorah, Daario and Grey Worm are still facing the threat of the Sons of the Harpy and civil unrest in Meereen.

The "Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale doesn't appear to reveal much for Meereen other than the sad faces of Dany's advisers and what sounds like a quote from Tyrion. Based on previously released details, it appears we'll get a look at where Daenerys went with Drogon.

"Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei (Lena Headey) seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged," reads the "Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale synopsis.

Shireen was sacrificed to the Lord of Light in "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 9, "The Dance of Dragons," to gain favor for the upcoming siege of Winterfell. As Melisandre notes, the offer appears to have worked. We get a look at dripping icicles and Stannis raising his sword in front of an army.

In King's Landing, we're going to see Cersei confess to her crimes. Her storyline changed slightly from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series -- her downfall was more about hubris and her poor decisions ultimately land her in a cell -- but it looks like we'll reach the same conclusion. Readers will know what to expect from Cersei, but there may be a few surprises along the way.

At Castle Black, Jon Snow will have another hard decision to make as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Sam can be heard asking Jon what he will do and released photos show a rather concerned Jon.

Arya Stark has to become "no one" to join the Faceless Men, but she really wants to kill Ser Meryn Trant. Arya believes the knight of the kingsguard killed Syrio Forel, her sword instructor, and wants to avenge his death. If she does, Jaqen H'ghar will know she is not ready and that could mean some consequences for Arya's apprenticeship.

The preview ends with Brienne and Pod looking ready for a fight. Sansa Stark is willing to risk everything if it means escaping the Boltons.
