After making some predictions about what to expect from "Game of Thrones" Season 5, we turn to a more realistic look at what to expect from the HBO juggernaut. Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be adapting "A Feast for Crows" and "A Dance With Dragons," and probably going beyond those books, while also forging a new path. Based on comments from the actors and author George R.R. Martin and the released episode synopsis and titles, here's what we can expect from "Game of Thrones" Season 5.

Warning: "Game of Thrones" Season 5 spoilers ahead.

Things Are A-Changin' On The Wall

Plenty of intrigue is in store on the Wall. At the end of Season 4, Stannis Baratheon swooped in to capture Mance Rayder and end the attack on Castle Black. With Jon Snow, Stannis, Mance and Melissandre at Castle Black, expect some interesting power struggles and changes for the Night's Watch. Based on the synopsis of the "Game of Thrones" Season 5 premiere, "The Wars to Come," Snow will have to deal with Stannis. "Snow is struggling to balance the demands of the Night's Watch with those of the newly arrived Stannis Baratheon, who styles himself the rightful king of Westeros," reads the episode synopsis.

Based on the "A Song of Ice and Fire" books, we can expect Jon to become Lord Commander. It will be interesting to see how Sam and Gilly's story differs from the book. In the novels, Sam and Gilly go to Oldtown, but that may not happen on the series. Aemon's death also may be changed in the series. As for Stannis, he's going to have a huge battle with Lord Bolton for control of the north.

A New 'Cat' Emerges

Arya is in Braavos, and we're going to learn all about the House of Black and White and the group of assassins known as the Faceless Men. During her training Arya becomes the "cat of the canals." Her storyline is going to be a big part of the early season -- especially given that "The House of Black and White" is the title for "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 2. Jaqen H'ghar's return was confirmed by HBO, Winter is Coming reported. Her progression and training may not be changed too much and could be one of the more familiar storylines for readers.

More Trouble In King's Landing

There will be another Lannister wedding, but Tommen will not die on his wedding day like his brother, Joffrey. While Tommen marries Margaery Tyrell, expect a power struggle between her and Cersei Lannister. Cersei will try to rule King's Landing and keep the Lannisters in power, but she'll make a few missteps that will cost her dearly. It's well known she'll have the Walk of Penance, although it's unclear how the show will get to that point. Cersei will try to rule, but will fail spectacularly.

A Major Player Emerges

We got our first taste of Dorne and the Martells in Season 4. Since Oberyn Martell died in King's Landing, his daughters -- the Sand Snakes -- have been out for revenge. House Martell and Dorne will be a major factor in "Game of Thrones" Season 5. Myrcella Baratheon is in Dorne and her father/uncle Jaime Lannister will also arrive with Bronn at some point in the season. Jaime's storyline has been changed a bit by Weiss and Benioff, so expect even more changes for the Kingslayer this season.

As for the Martells, we already know Quentyn Martell has not been cast, so no fumbling attempt for the hand of Daenerys Targaryen nor releasing of dragons. The Sand Snakes will also play an important role in the season, but Arianne Martell was not cast and that could mean some of her storyline gets shifted to one of the three sisters.

Dragons, Tyrion And Meereen

Tyrion Lannister will be making his way quickly to Meereen, based on set photos. That means there's no time for Penny or getting rescued by Jorah Mormont. Daenerys will struggle to stay in power, while the opposition group known as the Sons of the Harpy will make their presence known. The trailers show several fight scenes, the opening of the Daznak Pit and Jorah fighting for his life. It appears wedding bells are in Daenerys' future and Hizdahr zo Loraq will be the lucky guy. Drogon, Dany's largest dragon, will also cause plenty of problems in "Game of Thrones" Season 5.

The North

Littlefinger will continue to scheme at the Vale while Sansa Stark steps into a more active role. The trailers show her in Winterfell, and there is a tournament at the Vale. Sophie Turner has talked about how much Sansa has changed in Season 5. There's some speculation involving her involvement with the Boltons, but that remains to be seen. Littlefinger probably will head to King's Landing, but it's unclear what he will do there.

The Boltons will continue on their crazy, flaying ways, and another wedding is likely. In the books Ramsay gets married to an imposter Arya and that will likely happen on the show. Reek/Theon will also be around, but there is a lot of speculation about where his character is headed. As previously mentioned, the Boltons will do battle with Stannis' forces.

Last, but not least, we have Podrick and Brienne trekking around. What will happen after Brienne's encounter with the Hound? Her storyline has changed dramatically from the books, and Lady Stoneheart is looking less likely to show up on the series. There are some intriguing rumors about Brienne's storyline changing drastically, but we'll have to wait until "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 1 airs to get a better sense of the character's direction.
