“Quantico” is slowly giving Alex (Priyanka Chopra) more allies. The agent revealed the truth to Hannah (Eliza Coupe), who initially didn’t believe her. However, with a little more time to investigate, Hannah realized that Alex has to be telling the truth. Since Ryan’s (Jake McLaughlin) ex-wife technically had Alex fired in the last episode of the ABC drama, Hannah is now the terrorists’ connection inside the FBI office. In Season 1, episode 16, she’ll realize just how much stress Alex has been under.

“Alex finds an unlikely ally in Hannah, as she continues to try and stop the terrorist from striking again,” the synopsis teases. Hannah switched Claire’s (Marcia Cross) medication with something the terrorists wanted her to take, and it seems the bad guys are still focused on the politician. In the trailer for episode 16, which picks up just an hour after where episode 15 left off, Hannah and Claire seem to think that Claire will be killed.

Episode 16, titled “Clue,” will give viewers some answers, particularly about Claire. It was clear that the pills they switched weren’t poison, but the terrorists never explained what they wanted to do to her. “The last scene of episode 16 explains why Claire has been made involved without her knowledge,” executive producer Joshua Safran teased to Entertainment Weekly.

As usual, the present-day timeline will also be a focus, but it doesn’t sound like Alex will be the one suffering emotional trauma. The NATs will have to participate in a simulation that involves airplanes. “The NATs are given a training exercise that hits too close to home for Shelby [Johanna Braddy],” the synopsis reveals. Until the last episode, Shelby believed her parents died in one of the planes on 9/11. Even though she just learned that they faked their deaths, she might still feel some emotional distress while learning how to handle terrorist attacks on airplanes.

“Quantico” Season 1, episode 16 airs Sunday, April 3, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
