According to an annual survey conducted by YouGov, former First Lady Michelle Obama has bested Queen Elizabeth II when it comes to obtaining the title of the most admired woman in the world. This places Michelle ahead of not only the Queen, who currently sits in fourth, but also above Angelina Jolie and Oprah Winfrey, reports Express.

Upon hearing the news, fans turned to social media to express their delight that Michelle snagged the impressive honor. Regarding the former FLOTUS officially receiving this title, one person said that it was "no surprise that she is the most admired woman in the world!"

To reach their conclusion, over 42,000 people in 41 countries were surveyed.

According to YouGov's website, the initial question that was asked to gauge the overall level of admiration was simply: "Thinking about people alive in the world today, which [man or woman] do you most admire?" The data was then gathered in order to compile a list of 20 men and 20 women who received the most nominations. Additionally, they had to be nominated in at least four countries.

Then, the lists were used to poll each of the 41 countries, which is when two questions were asked: "Who do you truly admire?" and "Who do you MOST admire?" Eventually, Michelle was found to be the winner.

Previously, as reported by USA Today, Jolie held the title. However, she now finds herself at number three for 2019. On the other hand, Oprah moved up from third place to second.
