Queen Maxima of the Netherlands stole the show at the state dinner in Paris Thursday. She looked stunning in a gold embellished dress and was accompanied by her husband King Willem-Alexander. The Dutch royals were in the French capital on a two-day visit to the country. The 44-year-old royal dazzled in the outfit as she posed for the cameras outside the Elysee Palace.

Maxima pulled all stops for the state dinner in Paris hosted in honor of her husband. The Dutch queen dressed in a nude sequinned dress with golden floral detailing. The knee-length dress showed off her toned pins. It featured high neck and three-fourth length sleeves.

The mother-of-three accessorized with gold statement drop earrings, matching bracelet, ring and gold pointed toe high heels. Maxima also carried a gold box clutch bag to complete her ensemble. In spite of the cold weather, the Dutch queen wore a short dress and carried a nude pashmina shawl in hand.

Maxima’s flawless make-up consisted of brown smoky eyes, plum lipstick, pink cheeks and a golden glow on her face. She wore her long honey-blonde in relaxed curls. Her hair was kept in a deep side part and with the hair on one side fastened with a gold clip.

Willem-Alexander, meanwhile, looked handsome in a navy pinstriped suit and trousers combo. He paired his look with a crisp white shirt, matching pocket square and a blue chequered tie. The dapper king finished off his look in a pair of black lace-up shoes.

Supermodel Lara Stone also attended the evening gala. The Dutch model wore a quirky black peacoat with a red fur collar. French culture minister Audrey Azoulay chose an elegant black dress with sequins. Her shift dress has splashes of color — lilac, black and white. She paired it with sheer tights, black stilettos and drop earrings.

Earlier in the day the couple was greeted by the French President Francois Hollande. Maxima then turned heads in a non-traditional structured pink and nude coat featuring lace details, beading and large pockets. She topped off the look with a large tan straw hat, tan leather gloves, matching suede pumps and clutch bag.
