RadioShack quarterly profit falls

By @ibtimes on

RadioShack Corp's quarterly profit fell due to weakness in its T-Mobile business and higher costs related to the roll-out of its wireless kiosks in Target stores.

The electronics retailer's net income for the first quarter fell to $35.1 million, or 33 cents a share, from $50.1 million, or 39 cents a share, a year earlier.

The results included costs associated with the early retirement of debt of 2 cents a share as well.

Sales rose 2.1 percent to $1.06 billion, missing the analysts' average estimate of $1.07 billion.
