The flagship hotel of Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts in Russia, a part of The Rezidor Hotel Group, has been voted the leading luxury business hotel in the world.

The Radisson Royal Hotel in Moscow won the title at the grand finale of the World Travel Awards in Doha, Qatar, on Monday.

The Radisson Royal Hotel, Moscow has yet again proven its position as one of the best luxury business hotels around the globe. Our guests experience Moscow's rich historical and culture heritage combined with industry leading first class standards and services, the hotel's General Manager, Wolfgang Nitschke, said in a statement.

He added the prestigious award will add to the development of Radisson to a leading global brand.

The World Travel Award, dubbed as the Oscars of the travel industry, announced the award based on votes cast by 213,000 travel professionals, including travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organizations in more than 160 countries.

The hotel won for a number of reasons, Nitschke explained.

The hotel is often included in the Soviet skyscrapers' list; its monumental 34-storey-building, built between 1949 and 1957, gives it the status of a historical landmark in Moscow and of course, the facilities offered at the hotel are, literally, the best in the world.

The hotel has 497 guest rooms, suites and 38 serviced apartments, elegantly designed to suit guests' needs. Conference rooms, banquet halls and business centre are equipped with state-of-the-art technological wizardry. On top of all that there are nine restaurants and bars, offering facilities for lunch or dinner on the Moskva River with Yacht Restaurants running from the hotel along the most picturesque sights of the Russian Capital, Nitschke explained.
