Rafael Nadal continued his hot streak at Roland Garros on Friday, making quick work of Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-0 6-1 6-0 in a third-round match. The Spaniard dazzled the Paris crowd with 27 winners over 90 minutes as he continued his march to a 10th French Open title.

Nadal needed just 23 minutes to capture the first set with the Georgian winning just eight points. The lopsided match was Nadal's best ever showing at the French Open.

Basilashvili, ranked No. 63, finally won a game at 6-0 5-0.

“I mean, he's a much, much better player than I am obviously,” said Basilashvili. “And it's going to take a lot of work if I want to play on center court and play a good match against him. And also his game is something very difficult to handle."

Nadal has yet to concede a set in three matches. The No. 4 seed has been in top form in 2017, reaching the final of the Australian Open.

Up next for the clay-court specialist is a Sunday matchup with fellow countryman and 17th seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the Round of 16. Bautista Agut has never advanced beyond the fourth round of any Grand Slam.

Nadal, meanwhile, celebrates his 31st birthday on Saturday.

“It is always great to celebrate my birthday here," said Nadal. "I think only once or twice I didn't celebrate here and was not the best feeling. It’s good news that I will be here and I am just happy for that."

Nadal's strong finish comes on the same day that Novak Djokovic was pushed to five sets by Diego Schwartzman.
