Although Giuliana Rancic of Fashion Police and host of E! News is battling breast cancer, she expects to make a full recovery, according to an interview on NBC's Today Monday.

Rancic, who has chronicled her and husband Bill Rancic's many attempts for a successful in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure on their Style Network reality show Giuliana and Bill, revealed Monday that she also has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

“I feel like such a heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” she told E! News' Ryan Seacrest via satellite from New York.

She said her doctor urged her to get a mammogram while on her third visit for IVF in order to avoid her potential pregnancy hormones accelerating the cancer.

We sadly found out that I have early stages of breast cancer, said the 36-year-old host, who said she went kicking and screaming against having the exam. I will be okay, because I found it early, she added.

During the interview, Rancic thanked her husband Bill for letting her cry, and the baby she doesn't yet have for most likely saving her life perhaps.

After two failed IVF attempts, she ended the reality show's most recent season by heading back for a third round of fertility treatments.

He said, 'I will not get you pregnant' without ruling out her small risk of breast cancer, 'because if you get pregnant it will accelerate the cancer, all the hormones will accelerate the cancer,' said an emotional Rancic in the interview.

She said she hadn't planned on getting that type of scan until the recommended age: 40. I'm not going to give up, Rancic said. I want that baby. That baby will have saved my life.
