Several sources, including the New York Daily News, are reporting that the New York Jets are considering Randy Moss as an addition to their backfield.

The wide receiver spent the last half of the 2010 season playing for the Tennessee Titans. He also had a four-game stint with the Minnesota Vikings last season after three productive years with the New England Patriots, averaging more than 15 yards per reception.

The New York Post put forth the rumor that the Jets are using the talk about hiring Moss as a motivational tool to nudge Santonio Holmes back into their fold.

Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie tweeted yesterday: I would love to have Randy Moss on Jets. Much respect great vertical guy who has a lot left in the tank.
