Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen was named to the Eastern Conference team Thursday.

He will join fellow Celtics Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in the All-Star Game in Phoenix.

This will mark Allen's ninth All-Star appearance that would make all members of the Celtics' Big Three to play in his year's contest in Phoenix on February 15.

The Celtics (41-9) boast the NBA's best record and take a 12-game winning streak into Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Allen will replace Orlando Magic's Jameer Nelson in the NBA All-Star game on Sunday. Nelson was set to play guard on the East team but is nursing an injury to his right shoulder.

This is the second straight year Allen has been named as an injury replacement.
