Adrienne Maloof’s recent announcement that she will not be returning next season to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” doesn’t seem to be appeasing any of her critics on the show.

Maloof said that her departure from the show and her absence from the two-part reunion was partly due to feuds with some of her former cast mates, including Brandi Glanville. But even though Maloof wasn’t present at the highly anticipated reunion, that didn’t stop her fellow housewives from talking about her personal life.

On the second-part of the reunion, which aired on Monday night, several of Maloof’s former costars accused the businesswoman of making up allegations that her ex-husband, Paul Nassif, physically abused her. During the couple’s divorce, their former personal chef, Bernie Guzman, hinted that Nassif had abused his ex-wife, uploading a photo of a bruised Maloof to Facebook with the caption, “pushed to the ground. Punched and beaten.” Nassif is currently suing Guzman for defamation and extortion.

“We never know what happens behind closed doors, but we spent an awful lot of time with the two of them to see that there was never any indication of that,” Kyle Richards said. When Andy Cohen asked her point-blank if she believed the claims were true, Richards responded, “No, I do not.”

“Just because you don’t see something in a relationship, we can’t say it’s not true,” Lisa Vanderpump said. “But it was a pivotal conversation the whole of season two; we talked about domestic abuse. And she kept saying, ‘Well, if that happened, I would leave. I would never put up with that.’ So all the evidence leading up to it doesn’t make sense.”

Vanderpump’s mention of domestic abuse in the previous season referred to Taylor Armstrong, who admitted to her fellow cast members that her husband, Russell, who later committed suicide, was physically abusing her. Armstrong is now a spokeswoman for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Denver.

“I try to remind people that an abuser doesn’t ask you out on a date and punch you in the face,” Armstrong told the Denver Post. “These things happen slowly. He was going through my cellphone, monitoring my phone calls and email. That grip starts to tighten. You wake up one day in Cedars Sinai hospital having orbital reconstruction surgery, thinking: How did I get here?”

Armstrong also voiced skepticism about Maloof’s claims, saying that Maloof had never confided anything about abuse to her and was also unsupportive of Armstrong when she revealed that her husband was abusive.

“[Maloof] was the one that was really adamant about not believing what had happened until I ended up getting the implant in my eye,” Taylor said. “I would’ve expected some support, and I didn’t get any. I’ve just lost respect for her.”

Maloof has blamed Glanville for her decision not to remain on the show. “The final straw was Brandi bringing up my children. She got kicks out of trying to humiliate me,” she told Us Weekly. “I made it very clear [to producers] from episode one that I wouldn’t do the series if my children were involved in any way.”

Part-time cast member Faye Resnick has also reportedly decided not to return for another season of the reality show, even turning down a full-time offer from Bravo.
