Real Madrid went six points clear at the top of the Spanish Primera Division with a 4-1 victory in the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid.

Gonzalo Higuain then capitalized on some poor defending to score the third, before Ronaldo scored off the spot for a second time, after Diego Godin was given his marching orders.
