In the first of four El Classico's, Real Madrid will host Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu in an attempt to cut the deficit at the top of the Spanish league.

With seven games remaining, it may be too little too late for Madrid, leading some to suggest that this classico is meaningless. However, try telling that to the supporters of either of the two clubs. Their response should be quite frightening.

No Classico is meaningless. It's the battle for Spain, the bragging rights, the pride. There are battles on the field as well. Arguably the two best players of the world, at the moment, comes face to face - Messi and Ronaldo. That's the highlight. Other battles include Xavi against Xabi Alonso, Iniesta against Khedira, Villa against Carvalho, Higuain against Puyol and Mourinho against Guardiola.

It should be a treat.
