After a shocking 2-1 defeat at the hands of Getafe, Real Madrid return to the Bernabeu to face Granada in La Liga action Sunday.

Los Blancos took an early 1-0 lead after forward Gonzalo Higuain scored in the 27th minute, but Getafe roared back in the second half with a goal by midfielder Juan Valera in the 53rd minute and another by midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada in the 75th for the victory. It was Getafe's first win against Real in their last eight league matches.

Real's biggest splash in the summer transfer market, midfielder Luka Modric, could make his first appearance in La Liga play Sunday. Los Blancos signed the Croatian from Tottenham Hotspur for £35 million on Aug. 27.

Real is now six points back from the top of the La Liga table, and Granada are right behind them.

El Grana are still in search of their first La Liga victory of the season. They haven't won in La Liga play dating back to last season.

Granada came to a 1-1 draw with Sevilla last week, despite holding a 1-0 lead for most of the match after midfielder Moreno Mikel Rico rebounded defender Guillherme Siqueria's missed penalty for a goal in the 36th minute. Sevilla forward Alvaro Negredo knotted the match with a goal in the 44th minute to force the draw.
