Only two episodes remain in Season 1 of “Reign,” and fans definitely won’t want to miss out on the drama. The synopsis for episode 21 has leaked online, and the CW series will find many lives at risk when “Long Live the King” airs on May 8.
Last time viewers left off, Mary was forced to resort to drastic measures when Queen Catherine refused to financially help her mother, Marie DeGuise, escape Scotland. Desperate to get the money, Mary hired a mercenary to steal from Catherine. However the mercenary took a different route to obtain the money – and decided to kidnap the Queen.
Ultimately Mary did end up getting the funds, and the kidnapping was framed on Catherine’s cousin. However the episode ended with the Queen suspicious of her daughter-in-law and questioning what she’s capable of.
According to the synopsis for episode 21, Mary will be forming an unlikely alliance … with her evil mother-in-law, Queen Catherine. So, what is uniting the two foes? Their love for Francis.
Catherine would do anything to protect her son, and Mary would do the same. So when the “increasingly manic” King Henry puts Francis’ life in jeopardy the duo spring into action.
“He’s closed his mind to reason,” Mary begs Francis to understand in the promo video for “Long Live The King.” However Francis still has faith in his father.
“I need one last chance to break through to him,” Francis pleads.
But Queen Catherine insists to Mary that Henry needs to be stopped. “You and I are going to kill the King of France,” she tells her.
Meanwhile Bash will continue to hunt after The Darkness, the evil creature lurking in the woods outside the castle.
“The Darkness touched us all,” Nostradamus warns Bash. But when bash finds a boy who encountered The Darkness and lived to tell about it, he’s “determined to end it for good at any cost.”
“I just have to finish this,” Bash can be seen explaining in the promo video.
“Reign” fans can also look forward to the series expanding on Lord Julien and Lola’s storyline. After Lord Julien confessed everything to Lola in episode 20, episode 21 will find him continuing to reveal the “truth about his motives.” And according to the synopsis, Lola will be so blinded by love that she “finds herself in a dire situation after she attempts to protect him.”
Episode 21 of “Reign” will air on The CW on May 8 at 9 p.m. EDT. What do you think will happen in “Love Live The King”? Let us know your thoughts and theories in the comments section or send a tweet to @AmandaTVScoop.
