Remy Ma opened up to Instagram followers on Monday, providing them a glimpse inside a very personal struggle she and husband Papoose recently encountered. The video has been viewed more than 700,000 times and has fans sending love and prayers to the couple.

In the brief clip, Remy Ma, 36, can be seen sitting in a hospital bed with tubes in her nose. She begins the video by revealing, without ever actually saying it, that she and Papoose were expecting a child together. The legendary rapper shared with followers the excitement she was feeling about being a mother, revealing that her baby shower had been planned and had already begun thinking of names for their child. That bubble burst when Remy Ma learned that she’d miscarried the baby and, to make matter worse, been told that she would not be able to conceive again.

Although she was devastated, her husband rallied behind her as he has in the past and helped to get her through. In the caption of her video, Remy Ma revealed that it was Papoose who helped her make the decision to share her story on Instagram. She realized, through his encouragement, that she wasn’t the only one going through this. She reminded anyone facing similar struggles that “it is not over and God has the last say so.”

Remy Ma and Papoose have not yet given up on their dreams of becoming parents. In her Instagram post, the rapper thanked the hospital staff and surgeon who cared for her when the miscarriage occurred. She went on to tell Dr. Razmzan, who performed surgery on her, not to go into retirement just yet as she and Papoose plan to give pregnancy another shot through in vitro fertilization.

Rumors have been circulating about Remy Ma and Papoose expecting a child for some time. In March 2016, just before the Season 6 “Love & Hip Hop: New York” reunion, it was reported that the couple would be announcing that they were having a child together. The news was first reported by Starcasm after sources told the outlet that Remy revealed the exciting news to her co-stars in January of that year.

Remy Ma and Papoose have been married since 2008, but spent much of their time on “Love & Hip Hop: New York” planning the dream wedding they were never able to have. Remy Ma was in prison from 2008-14. The pair also discussed plans to expand their family — which includes two children from previous relationships — though Remy Ma was clear with Papoose that she wanted to wait until after their wedding. The ceremony took place in December 2015 and aired on the show in March of the following year.
