French carmaker Renault, Japanese alliance partner Nissan and Germany's Daimler will unveil partnership and cross-shareholding plans on Wednesday in Brussels, industry sources told Reuters on Tuesday.

An extraordinary (Renault) group board meeting on an alliance with Daimler took place this morning, a source close to Renault said, adding that the announcement would come on Wednesday before European stock markets open.

Another industry source said a partnership would be announced on Wednesday. Daimler, Renault and Nissan Europe declined to comment.
