Ground workers began striking on Thursday at Frankfurt Airport, Europe's third busiest airport, which has caused more than 150 flight cancellations. The strike took place from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. (CET). Workers are expected to strike on Friday, too. The Financial Times reports that strikes could last until the weekend.

University of Oxford professor Devi Sridhar, a lecturer in global health politics, is calling on the World Health Organization (WHO) to begin regulating alcohol use worldwide. About 2.5 million deaths a year, almost 4 percent of all deaths worldwide, are attributed to alcohol - more than the number of deaths caused by HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis or malaria, Sridhar wrote in Nature, the science journal.

Sony Music raised the price of Houston's songs just 30 minutes after her death reports Guardian. The retail price was raised from about $8 (£4.99) to about $13 (£7.99), which automatically raised the price of digital sales on platforms such as iTunes.
