Rescue crews pulled Dutch Prince Johan Friso from under an avalanche that had buried him 15 minutes earlier in western Austria on Friday, the Austria Press Agency reported.
The prince was transferred to the University clinic in (the city of) Innsbruck. There was no immediate information about his health, APA said without giving a source for the information.
Police and the Dutch embassy in Austria gave no further details.
The Dutch royal family often spends winter holidays in Lech in the western province of Vorarlberg.
Prince Johan Friso, 43, is the middle son of Queen Beatrix. His older brother is Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and his younger brother is Prince Constantijn.
