The son of one of the greatest wrestlers of all time has passed away.

According to PWInsider.com, the son of WWE superstar Ric Flair, Reid Flair, died on Friday. His body was reportedly found in Charlotte, North Carolina. Reid Flair was just 24 years old. The cause of death is unknown at this point.

Reid Flair followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a professional wrestler. He had been working for All Japan Pro Wrestling and was scheduled to make appearances in Maryland this weekend with his father.

When he was just nine years old, Reid Flair made his debut in the world of wrestling on WCW. He had a storyline with Eric Bischoff and later teamed with Ric in a match against Vince Russo and David Flair.

Reid’s career was derailed by problems away from the ring. An arrest for heroin possession kept him from debuting with Ring of Honor. He was also charged with two counts of assault and battery in 2007.

There had been previous rumors that Reid would join the WWE developmental program. However, he never signed a contract with the company.
