FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Manufacturing activity has decreased in the Central Atlantic area in October ending a period of four months of expansion, due to of overall activity was pushed lowering to negative territory, according to the Richmond Fed's latest survey.

The seasonally adjusted manufacturing activity index has dropped to -5 from a level of 14 in September, with its components, such as shipments decreasing 27 points to -5 or new orders falling 22 points to -8.

The capacity utilization index fell below zero losing 19 points to post a -12 reading, and the orders backlog indicator dropping sixteen points to -17. vendor delivery times edged 3 points down to 3, finished goods inventory decreased four points to 21 and the raw materials inventory lost ten points to 9.
