It's been three years since Rihanna has dropped an album and her fans are getting anxious waiting for the release of her forthcoming studio album "Anti." The singer held an event earlier this month revealing the cover of the album, but supposedly she's still not ready to release it.

According to new reports, Rihanna pushed back "Anti's" release date because she didn't want it to drop the same day as Adele's new album "25" on Nov. 20. The blog Daily Double claims "Anti" was supposed to hit stores later this month but was moved up to Nov. 6 and then changed to December. The outlet also writes that there's a chance Rihanna's record won't be released until 2016.

Rumors that the album was facing delays first started a few days ago when the British newspaper the Sun reported that Rihanna's father Ronald said his daughter wasn't happy with "Anti."

“She’s not comfortable with it. When she went over the songs she found all these little things she wanted to change and was worried about it," he said. "It’s a long process and isn’t easy. It’s been three years now since her last album and she wants this to blow everything else away.”

He added, “To her, it’s not ready. She doesn’t know which of the 26 songs to use."

Earlier Tuesday, People magazine reported that the Barbadian singer decided not to perform at the 2015 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in December because she needed to finish the record. Rihanna was replaced by Ellie Goulding, who will join Selena Gomez and The Weeknd as performers.

Despite rumblings Rihanna doesn't want her album to compete with Adele's, the “Someone Like You” singer told Rolling Stone she's a huge fan of the 27 year old and wants her to be in her group of friends.

“I wish my squad was all supermodels. We are, in our brains. I guess I have my own squad… It’s not as interesting as some of the other squads that are around right now,” she said. “But maybe Rihanna can be in my squad! That would be really cool. Oh, God. She’s life itself, isn’t she? I love her.”
