All speculation about Chris Brown being able to attend the Grammys can be laid to rest. A clause in the restraining order which stops him from being around Rihanna, allows an exception when both are required to attend a music event.

According to Billboard, the court order, which prevents Brown from coming closer than 50 yards to Rihanna, allows both to perform at the same music function. The rules are relaxed in this situation and Brown is required to come no closer than ten yards to the ‘Umbrella’ singer.

Rihanna is nominated for both 'Record Of The Year' and 'Best Dance Recording' at this year's awards, while Brown has received nominations for 'Best Contemporary R&B Album' and Best R&B Performance By A Duo'.

The restraining order is a result of Brown’s arrest for assaulting Rihanna at a pre Grammy event in 2009. He is out on probation and has even recently completed a domestic violence correction course.
Surprisingly, it is reported that Rihanna’s attorney Donald Etra is trying to downgrade the restraining order so that both the artists can ‘meet’.
