Rihanna pulled off a glittery jumpsuit in her and Calvin Harris’ newest music video for “This Is What You Came For” released on Friday. Her look was put together by none other than her stylist Mel Ottenberg, who wanted something unusual for RiRi. The 28-year-old singer’s sparkly floor-length cloak is from Brooklyn-based designer Isabel Hall’s recent graduation collection for Pratt.

Ottenberg attended the 117th annual show in early May, which honored former Met Costume Institute curator Harold Koda. He wanted an out-of-the box outfit to showcase her sartorial style for the music video, which shows the singer inside a cube with strobe lights and projections. In fact when Ottenberg was at the Pratt fashion show, he loved the jumpsuit and wanted to use it.

“It’s got a slight Stephen Sprouse, Debbie Harry 70’s vibe, yet it’s totally modern and cool. Her jumpsuit is fun and the song is super fun, so I thought they worked great together,” said RiRi’s stylist. Ottenberg took to Instagram and shared the picture with his 86.7k followers.

The picture shows RiRi’s raven tresses styled into a high ponytail and lots of jewelry. The singer accessorizes with diamond stud earrings, necklaces, gold body chain, two chunky rings and a gold bracelet. RiRi wears lots of black mascara, glittery eyeshadow and frosted pink lipstick.

Hall told The Cut that Ottenberg “initially pulled the jumpsuit for a different shoot, but got in touch again when he was working on the music video.” Hall first thought to include glittery mesh boxer shorts layered over pants in her senior thesis collection for the school’s graduate fashion show in May. She later decided that the fabric was special enough to merit its own full look.

Hall said that she wanted to dress RiRi as the latter has confidence and an attitude with clothes. This is not the first time that RiRi and her stylist have helped a new grad to fame. The singer is also a fan of recent Parsons alum Matthew Adams Dolan.
