We are just one day away from diving head first into more than two weeks of international competition at the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The games begin on Friday, Aug. 5 with live events airing daily on NBC and other networks — but what does that mean for television programs?

The Olympics are going to majorly impact the network’s schedule. Shows will be pushed back into different timeslots, while others will temporarily go dark. Popular programs like “Today,” “American Ninja Warrior” and “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” are among those being affected. On some days “Today” will be cut short, where shows like “The Tonight Show” and American Ninja Warrior” will be bumped all together. “Days of Our Lives,” which airs weekdays at 1 p.m., will also be affected by the Olympics. The show will not air for a majority of the competition.

“American Ninja Warrior,” “The Tonight Show,” and “Days of Our Lives” will return to their respective programming slots Monday, Aug. 22. The 2016 Olympic Games conclude on Sunday, Aug. 21. For a more detailed look at NBC’s programming lineup during the Rio Olympics, click HERE.

Several other channels have also agreed to air Olympic events. Bravo, USA, MSNBC and Telemundo are among the list of channels switching up their programming schedules to engage viewers in the 2016 games. Bravo will be airing the Rio Olympics alongside many of its popular shows which are currently airing new episodes. On Sunday, “Real Housewives of New Jersey” will show a social version of an old episode and return brand new installment on Sunday, Aug. 14. “Real Housewives of Orange County” will air a new episode on Thursday, Aug. 11, rather than its usual Monday air date. The show will return to it’s initial schedule on Aug. 15. Bravo will not air a new episode of “Real Housewives of New York City” until Wednesday, Aug. 17.
