Garner was a fixture in Hollywood for more than 50 years and was best known for the “Maverick” and “The Rockford Files” television shows though those from millennial generation best know him as Duke, the older version of Ryan Gosling’s character Noah, from the movie adaptation of Nicholas Spark’s romance novel “The Notebook.”
Following his death, William Shatner, Kaley Cuoco, Piers Morgan and other celebrities paid tribute:
Sending thoughts and prayers to the family of James Garner this morning.
