RTTNews - The number of unemployed in Germany rose 1,000 in May, significantly smaller than the revised increase of 57,000 recorded in April, the Federal Labor Agency said Thursday. Meanwhile, economists had forecast an increase of 64,000.

The seasonally adjusted jobless rate fell to 8.2% in May from 8.3% in April. It was in contrast to the forecast that called for an increase to 8.4%.
