‘Riverdale’
Penelope Blossom (Nathalie Boltt) will try to manipulate Polly (Tiera Skovbye) and her family into keeping her and Jason's (Trevor Stines) baby in “Riverdale” Season 1. The CW

“Riverdale” Season 1 recently saw Hermione (Marisol Nichols) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) taking Polly (Tiera Skovbye) into their home.

After escaping the religious facility she was thrown into, Polly went back to the Cooper household without her family’s knowledge. When her younger sister, Betty (Lili Reinhart), looked for her in the attic, she found a panicked Polly who was at a loss regarding what she needs to do. Initially, Polly wanted to leave their town, but Betty said that it would be best if she would stay close to her.

When Betty told Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) that she found Polly, Jason’s (Trevor Stines) sister offered to also take her in. At first, Cheryl’s parents were on board with the idea. In fact, they even promised Polly and Betty that they would take care of the former, as well as the baby in her womb.

But on the day that Polly was supposed to meet with the Blossoms, Cheryl told her and Betty that they should immediately flee. After all, Cheryl’s parents have a plan that could destroy Polly and her baby. This led to Veronica offering Polly a place to stay. But even if Polly is safe for now, this does not mean that the Blossoms will no longer torment her.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said that the Blossoms will stop at nothing to get a hold of Polly and Jason’s baby. “They’re like the child snatchers in ‘Mary Poppins.’ They want that baby more than anything,” he said.

But it seems that Betty and her friends will also do everything they can to protect Polly’s baby even without the help of their mom, Alice (Madchen Amick). The latter previously convinced Polly that she should have her baby adopted.

“Riverdale” Season 1 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
