Rob Ford Video
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford threatens to murder and unknown man in a newly released video The Sun

Rob Ford, the Toronto mayor who admitted to smoking crack cocaine on Tuesday, has been caught on video threatening to murder an unknown man.

The video, obtained by the Star, shows Ford in an obviously agitated state, gesturing wildly and threatening to fight an unknown man to the death and “rip his fucking throat out.” Ford does not appear to know that he is being recorded in the video, which was likely shot clandestinely with a cell phone camera.

“I’m gonna kill that fucking guy,” Ford says in the video. “I’m telling you, it’s first-degree murder. No holds barred, brother. He dies or I die, brother … When he's down, I'll rip his fucking throat out. I'll poke his eyes out.

“I'll make sure that motherfucker's dead,” he continues.

It’s unclear exactly who Ford is talking about in the video, but at one point Ford mentions that the unknown man called both Ford and his brothers Doug and Randy “liars” and “thieves.” The man who received Ford's threats was not in the room when the video was recorded.

Ford reacted quickly to the video’s release, appearing in an impromptu press conference outside his office to discuss the video.

"I saw a video, it is extremely embarrassing, the whole world is going to see it -- I don't have a problem with that,” Ford told Toronto Sun reporter Don Peat.

"I was very, very inebriated,” Ford said of his actions in the video. "Again, I've made mistakes, all I can do is reassure the people, I don't know what to say."

Ford did not explain the video’s context in his appearance, nor did he clarify to whom his threats were directed.
