It's one surprise after another from Rob Pattinson, who has announced he will be appearing at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, E! Online reported exclusively.

The Twilight actor is up against Daniel Radcliffe, High Jackman, Johnny Depp and Ryan Reynolds in the 'Favorite Movie Actor category.

It may seem like Pattinson has dedicated the beginning 2012 to catching up with his on-screen girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, but the actor has started to promote his new film Bel Ami that is due to come out in March.

Pattinson plays the part of a young man in 19th century Paris who manipulates influential and wealthy women to rise to power. The film also stars Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Later in the year we expect to see Pattinson in Cosmopolis, -- an adaptation of Don DeLillio's novel that ultimately tells the story of a 28-year-old multimillionaire, Eric Packer, who makes an epic trip across midtown Manhattan to get a haircut--a film is directed by the internationally acclaimed director, David Cronenberg.

The film has a lot more depth to it than initially meets the eye. The tale is one of deep-routed father-son conflict, gambling, sex and vulnerability. As the limo moves through the city's mid-day gridlock, Packer is confronted by a bomb explosion, a water-main break, lavish anarchist violence and a direct threat to the millionaire's life.

In his new role, Pattinson has been brought back to the everyday life and there is not one vampire in sight. Don Delilo's work is recognized for its careful detailing of life in America in the past century.

The film also stars Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, Mathieu Amalric,Sarah Gadaon, Samantha Morton, jay Baruchel, kevin Durand, Emily Hampshire and Patricia Mckenzie.
