David Cronenberg is known for directing body horror films that intrigue audiences while haunting them at the same time. His latest effort, Cosmopolis seems to do just that. It stars Robert Pattinson, who is known for lighter fair such as Twilight and Water for Elephants, as a raunchy millionaire. For Pattinson, it's the actor's darkest role yet. So far, only a 30-second French trailer of the film has been released but the brief footage shows the star engaging in limo sex, shooting himself in the hand, and clubbing it up with the wrong crowd. If his goal was to alienate his tween audience, he's done a very good job.

Based on the Don DeLillo novel of the same name, it takes place over the course of a single day in which Eric Parker (Pattinson) is stalked, loses money and endures marital struggles. The majority of the story takes place in Parker's high-tech limo. Other members of the cast include Paul Giamatti and Juliette Binoche. A U.S release date has yet to be announced for the film but rumor has it Cosmopolis will debut at Cannes on May 25th.

For now, a set of new stills have been released.
